Trump Adviser: US Maximum Involvement in War Three Months
WASHINGTON – George Papadopoulos, a foreign policy adviser for US President Donald John Trump’s campaign, stated that the Trump administration has no interest in engaging in a protracted conflict with Iran. He noted that the US does not want a war lasting more than three months.
“It is not in America’s interest if this war lasts more than three months, and that is why I believe three months will ultimately be the maximum limit that America will use to engage in this war,” Papadopoulos said in an interview quoted from Sputnik on Thursday (26/3/2026).
Papadopoulos also emphasised that prolonging the conflict with Iran for a longer period would not benefit the US, Europe, or Israel. This includes, he added, the potential impact on the domestic political situation in America ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
The US midterm elections will take place on 3 November 2026, involving the re-election of the entire House of Representatives and one-third of the Senate. On 28 February 2026, the US and Israel launched attacks on targets in Iran, causing damage and civilian casualties.
Even Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomeini became a victim in that sudden attack. Iran retaliated by attacking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East as a form of self-defence.
