Truck Struck by Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train Causing Entire Consist to Derail and Disrupting Services

Tangerang — Footage has gone viral on social media showing the moment a truck was struck by a Soekarno-Hatta Airport train. One clip, posted on the Instagram account @warungjurnalis, shows a truck straddling the level crossing near Poris Station in Batuceper, Tangerang. The incident was reported to have occurred on Friday morning, 20 February 2026, resulting in the airport train derailing from the tracks.

“The Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line collided with a truck in Batuceper. The entire consist has derailed,” the account stated.

KAI Commuter has moved to expedite the evacuation of the derailed Soekarno-Hatta Airport train consist following the collision with the cement-laden truck. The accelerated response was necessitated by the derailed carriages obstructing other rail services.

“As a result of this incident, the Tangerang Commuter Line is currently only operating between Rawa Buaya Station and Duri Station,” said KAI Commuter Vice President of Corporate Secretary, Karina Amanda.

Meanwhile, airport train services from Soekarno-Hatta Airport are running only as far as Batuceper Station before returning to the airport. The company has arranged substitute transport for passengers to continue their journeys.

“We urge all passengers to follow directions and information provided by staff on the ground. In the meantime, prospective Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line passengers intending to travel to the airport are advised to seek alternative transport options,” she said.

Officers are still carrying out the initial stages of the evacuation process. To speed up operations, KAI Commuter is coordinating with KAI Regional Operations Division 1 Jakarta to dispatch a rescue train to the scene.

“There are no casualties from this incident. Everyone is safe and has been evacuated,” she confirmed.

Passengers holding airport train tickets may obtain a full 100 per cent refund at stations along the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line route.

“In response to this incident, we have implemented operational pattern adjustments and cancellations on the Commuter Line,” she added.
