Truck Queues at Ciwandan Port; Police Manage Traffic to Prevent Disruption to Southern Ring Road
A queue of trucks attempting to enter Pelindo’s Ciwandan Port in Cilegon, Banten has emerged, prompting joint officers to manage truck positioning to prevent vehicles from blocking the Southern Ring Road (JLS) in front of the port.
Monitoring by detikcom at the location on Saturday, 14 March 2026, showed small two-axle trucks entering the port’s dedicated truck facility. A queue of trucks stretched from inside the port through to the entrance gate.
At the roadside, two traffic police officers managed the trucks’ positions to prevent them from obstructing traffic flow.
Meanwhile, traffic on the JLS in front of the port was observed moving smoothly. Private vehicles occasionally stopped briefly as trucks entered or were repositioned at the gate.
Previously, Banten Police Chief Inspector General Hengki stated that trucks had stopped on the Southern Ring Road (JLS) whilst queuing to enter Ciwandan Port.
“On the Southern Ring Road (JLS) there are vehicles in classes 5 and 6B waiting; this is not congestion. They are waiting in the queue to board the vessel,” he said.
Hengki emphasised that there was no congestion leading to the port, with officers managing conditions effectively in the field.
“Therefore, there is no congestion in Banten Police’s jurisdiction to date; all traffic is flowing smoothly,” he stated.
