Truck Overturns in Front of Parliament Building, Diesel Fuel Spills onto Road

A truck lost control and overturned on Jalan Gatot Subroto towards Slipi, directly in front of the DPR/MPR RI building on Thursday (12 March) morning.

Information about the incident was posted by the X account @TMCPoldaMetro. The post showed traffic conditions at the location were considerably congested as a result of the incident.

“05:30 WIB: A truck experienced loss of control and overturned on Jl. Gatot Subroto, directly in front of DPR/MPR towards Slipi. Traffic conditions are being monitored and are relatively congested approaching the location,” the post stated.

The post also showed members of the police and officials from Jakarta’s Transportation Agency (Dishub) managing traffic flow at the scene.

In a subsequent post, it was announced that the truck was successfully evacuated from the location at 08:00 WIB.

However, motorists were advised to exercise caution when passing through the area due to slippery road conditions. The diesel fuel being transported by the truck had spilled onto the road as a result of the incident.

“08:00 WIB: #Polri Central Jakarta Traffic Police conducted traffic safety and order activities at the location of the truck that experienced loss of control in front of DPR/MPR. The truck has now been successfully evacuated, and motorists passing through are advised to remain cautious given the slippery road conditions caused by the diesel fuel spill,” the post stated.
