Truck overturns after near-miss

SEMARANG, Central Java: A trailer truck carrying a six-ton
load overturned on the Walisongo-Semarang highway on Wednesday
after it nearly collided with a van and a pickup.

The police patrol chief at Tugu substation, Second Insp.
Sutrisno, said there were no fatalities. However, the pickup
driver suffered serious head injuries.

Sutrisno said the incident occurred when the pickup attempted
to turn around and was not aware of a speeding van coming his
way.

Antara reported that the pickup driver was flung out of his
vehicle, which blocked the street. The trailer truck approached
and had to make a sudden turn to avoid a collision.(lup)
