A dump truck with registration plate DH 8627 EE overturned and fell into a large hole caused by a broken bridge in Baoatok B Hamlet, Manleten Narat Village, East Tasifeto District, Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Fortunately, there were no fatalities, although the truck driver sustained injuries.

“The driver suffered abrasions all over his body,” stated the Chief of Tasifeto Timur Police, Ipda Yusran, on Monday (7/6/2026).

Yusran explained that the incident occurred on Saturday (6/6/2026) at approximately 21:30 WITA. The incident began as the driver, Darius Leki, was travelling from the direction of Fatuba’a towards Atambua. Upon reaching the location, the truck overturned because the driver was unaware that the bridge had been severed.

“The truck has been evacuated, and at the time, the incident was not reported to us,” Yusran explained.

According to Yusran, the bridge had previously collapsed on 17 October 2025 due to a landslide. The Belu Regency Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Housing Department (Dinas PUPR) subsequently carried out emergency repairs to allow vehicle access. However, due to high rainfall, the road collapsed again on 20 April 2026.

“As of now, the condition of the road remains severed,” Yusran added.
