Truck Drivers Blockade Dock at Gilimanuk Port, Protesting TBB Scheme
A blockade action carried out by several truck drivers at the dock area of Gilimanuk Port, Jembrana Regency, Bali, went viral on social media on Monday (30/3). The action was described as a form of protest against the implementation of the Tiba-Bongkar-Berangkat (TBB) operational scheme. In circulating posts, the TBB policy is applied to alleviate queues at Ketapang Port, Banyuwangi, East Java. However, the policy is deemed to impact vehicles from Bali that struggle to board ships, thereby hindering loading and unloading activities and sparking complaints from drivers. In response, Corporate Secretary of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), Windy Andale, confirmed the operational disruption at the port. “This situation occurs alongside adjustments to the ship’s operational patterns in the field as part of efforts to maintain the smooth flow of crossings overall,” Windy said in a written statement on Monday (30/3) afternoon. She explained that the incident occurred around 08:30 WITA at Dock 1 of Gilimanuk Port and temporarily halted the ship’s cargo unloading process. “In that scheme, several ships follow the TBB pattern to support more even fleet distribution, which impacts waiting times for service users during certain periods,” she added. ASDP, continued Windy, understands the discomfort felt by service users due to these adjustments, particularly regarding longer waiting times. “We convey our appreciation for the patience and understanding of the public, and continue to strive to ensure services run safely, orderly, and conducive,” she clarified. Currently, conditions at Gilimanuk Port are said to have gradually returned to normal. ASDP, along with relevant parties, continues to enhance coordination on the ground, including in disseminating information to service users. “In the future, ASDP will continue to conduct evaluations and refinements to operational patterns in order to enhance comfort and service certainty for the public. For information, the regulation of ship operational patterns is part of coordination with relevant authorities, including the Land Transportation Management Agency (BPTD),” she stated.
