Truck driver in deadly Cipularang Toll Road crash named a suspect

Police have named the container truck driver, Muhamad Yahya (27), as a suspect in a multi-vehicle crash involving ten vehicles on the Cipularang Toll Road in the Purwakarta area. The crash left three people dead. ‘The driver named Muhammad Yahya is now a suspect,’ said Dir Lantas Polda Jabar, Kombes Raydian Kokrosono, after conducting the on-site investigation, quoted by detikJabar, on Friday (6 March 2026). The designation of a suspect followed a series of police investigations, witness interviews, crime-scene examination, and CCTV footage analysis. From the investigations, three main triggering factors behind the crash were revealed. ‘If during the development of the investigation we find involvement by the company, we will carry out further questioning,’ Raydian said. The number of fatalities reportedly rose to three. In addition to the dead, one person was seriously injured and five others suffered minor injuries. ‘Yes, last night the incident happened, two died.
