Truck driver complains about extortion at Cilincing vehicle inspection site

Jakarta (ANTARA) - A truck driver, identified as MAP, has complained about alleged extortion by a group of people near the vehicle inspection site of the Motor Vehicle Testing Management Unit (UP PKB Cilincing) on Jalan Raya Cakung-Cilincing, Semper Timur, Cilincing District, North Jakarta.

“The driver claimed that he was forcibly asked for parking money by five men at the location, amounting to Rp20,000, even though he only stopped briefly at the location, intending to enter the UP PKB Cilincing,” said Cilincing Police Chief AKP Bobi Subasri in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He said that the incident had been reported to the Cilincing Police about an unpleasant act in front of the UP PKB Cilincing.

He said that officers immediately went to the scene and, after a search by officers, the perpetrators were no longer at the location.

“The perpetrators were no longer at the location,” he said.

He said that officers are continuing to investigate the report and pursue the perpetrators.

“We are still pursuing the perpetrators,” he said.
