Truck crashes into house/restaurant

BEKASI: Suhendar lost a battle with drowsiness, unfortunately
he was also the driver of a truck at the time, which lost control
and slammed into a house-cum-restaurant on Jl. Perjuangan, Bekasi
Utara, on Friday morning, bringing down the whole building.

Munawaroh, 25, the daughter of house owner Dasuki, was injured
as the building crashed to the ground. She was taken to Asri
Nugraha hospital.

Suhendar was rushed to Bekasi General Hospital after being hit
by a falling beam and suffering lacerations from the shattered
truck windows.

Dasuki said that the front part of the house had been used as
a food stall.

"I was shocked ... The food stall is usually full of
customers, but at that time, fortunately, no one else was there,"
he was quoted as saying by Antara.

The Bekasi Utara Police officers were still doing an
investigation to determine the monetary losses incurred. -- JP
