Truck Crashes into Busway Separator on Corridor 9, Traffic on Jalan MT Haryono Disrupted

A rubbish truck was involved in a traffic accident on Jalan MT Haryono heading towards Slipi. The truck collided with a busway separator.

“The accident involved a truck hitting the separator,” said South Jakarta Police Traffic Unit Head, Kompol Mujiyanto, when contacted on Sunday (16/8/2026).

Mujiyanto stated that the accident occurred at around 04.00 WIB this morning. The driver is suspected of being negligent and failing to see the busway separator.

“The rubbish truck had just finished delivering from Bantargebang; it was empty. Perhaps at night the separator in the middle was not visible,” he said.

The evacuation process is still ongoing. Traffic flow has also been disrupted due to the accident.

“It needs to be towed. We are waiting for a tow truck from the local government because the axle is broken. Traffic is somewhat delayed; the busway lane can be used and the left lane can be used, but onlookers are slowing things down,” he explained.
