South Lampung (ANTARA) - The density of goods transport trucks on the main route leading to Bakauheni Port, South Lampung, from Sunday (29/3) to Tuesday morning is slowly beginning to ease. General Manager of PT ASDP Bakauheni Branch, Partogi Tamba, in South Lampung on Tuesday, stated that following the end of the policy restricting three-axle and above logistic vehicles, there has been a surge in the number of trucks in the port area. According to him, the restriction is regulated in the Joint Decree (SKB) Number: KP-DRJD 854 of 2026, Number: HK.201/1/21DJPL/2026, Number: 20/KPTS/Db/2026, Number: Kep/43/II/2026 dated 5 February 2026 on Traffic Regulation and Crossing during the Eid Homecoming and Return Flow Period for 2026/1447 Hijriah, which applies to the Bakauheni-Merak route from 23-29 March 2026 and the Ketapang-Gilimanuk route from 13-29 March 2026. “In the 24-hour period, from 30 March 2026 at 00.00 WIB to 24.00 WIB, data from the ASDP Bakauheni Branch records around 4,810 units per day. This high figure reflects the increasing goods distribution activity post-Eid, in line with the recovery of economic activities,” he said. Therefore, with the high mobilisation of goods vehicles, his side has implemented the Arrive-Unload-Depart (TBB) scheme to accelerate ship turnaround during peak density. With relatively favourable weather conditions and no notable incidents during that period, the flow of trucks at Bakauheni Port post-return peak can be eased well despite the continuously increasing volume. “From the mobility of vehicles that is quite high, the movement is supported by 41 ships operating with a total of 122 trips during that 24-hour period,” he said.
