Truck Breaks Down at Bekasi Timur Station Crossing, Causing KRL Passengers to Evacuate
A truck broke down at the railway crossing near Bekasi Timur Station, causing many KRL (Commuter Line) passengers to exit their carriages.
KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager, Leza Arlan, confirmed that the truck stalled at the JPL 86 crossing between Bekasi and Tambun on Monday (21/09/2026) evening. “That is correct, there was a truck that broke down at JPL 86 between Bekasi-Tambun. It has been there since 19:22 WIB,” Leza stated when contacted.
Leza noted that the truck had been stalled since approximately 19:16 WIB, resulting in train delays of roughly 10 minutes. While there were no cancellations of Commuter Line services, the impact included delays on several routes: the Angke - Cikarang service (No. PLB 5148C) was delayed by 10 minutes, the Cikarang - Angke service (No. PLB 5171D) by 12 minutes, and the Cikarang - Kampung Bandan service (No. PLB 5173D) by 9 minutes.
In circulating videos and photos, numerous passengers were seen exiting the KRL and standing on the platforms at Bekasi Timur Station. It was reported that passengers chose to disembark due to trauma following a train collision incident that occurred in April 2026.
In response, KCI stated that officers stationed at the location will continue to provide safety advisories to passengers. Passengers are also urged to follow staff instructions and prioritise their personal safety. “Officers will always provide updates and guidance,” said Leza.
