Truck and Dozens of Motorcycles Torched Amid Land Dispute in North Sumatra's Sergai

A land dispute between a community group and PT Bridgestone in Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra, escalated into violence, resulting in the torching of dozens of motorcycles and a truck. The incident occurred on Thursday (25/6/2026) at PT Bridgestone’s site in Nagur Pane Village, Sipispis District, when the company was conducting land clearing activities. The operation was met with resistance from a community group identifying themselves as descendants of Raja Nagur Bolag Nagur Raja. Following the confrontation, the company personnel withdrew from the location. However, the situation subsequently deteriorated, leading to the destruction and burning of company vehicles. A company employee was also reported injured during the clash.
