Trouble at Columbia
Trouble at Columbia
From Republika
The VCD player I bought at Columbia Cilandak (Cahaya) on Jl. KKO, South Jakarta, in March 2000 broke down early in May. It was still under warranty so I went to the shop to file my claim. Columbia's service turned out to be disappointing and unprofessional.
When my wife collected the VCD a shop attendant told her it had been repaired. But when it was switched on at home, it was as defective as before. Upon inspection I discovered that the seal on the back of the VCD player was intact. This means Columbia had not done any repairs.
So, Columbia led me up the garden path. I went back to the shop to have the VCD repaired again. This attempt has so far not yielded any results. The VCD is still unusable, and the employees at Columbia give complicated explanations and tend to shrug off responsibility.
With this letter, I would like to ask Columbia the following questions: Is the procedure for a guaranty claim this difficult? Or is Columbia only able to sell its goods without offering any after-sales service?
People should take caution in purchasing electronic goods at Columbia Cilandak. I am sure that I am not the only victim.
