Tropical storm hovers east of RP

MANILA (AFP): Tropical storm Janis was hovering east of the
northern Philippines yesterday, but its 95 kilometers an hour
winds do not immediately threaten the country, weathermen said.

The eye of the storm was about 700 kilometers from the Batanes
island group and crawling northwest at seven kilometers an hour,
they added.
