Trisakti University Law Students to Protest at Parliament Today
Students from the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Law at Trisakti University will hold a demonstration at 1.30 p.m. WIB at the Parliament Building in Central Jakarta on Friday, 19 June 2026. BEM FH Trisakti is demanding action on three main issues: restoring the economy and politics, eradicating incompetence among officials, and returning to civilian supremacy.

‘As a form of active participation in overseeing the direction of state policy and safeguarding the values of democracy, justice, and civilian supremacy,’ wrote @bem.fh.usakti on Friday, 19 June 2026.
According to BEM FH Trisakti, the economy continues to weaken. Meanwhile, the free nutritious meal programme has numerous problems, including poisoning cases and serving as a breeding ground for corruption.
They also highlighted the involvement of figures with military backgrounds in civilian posts. For them, this condition betrays the 1998 reformasi movement.
‘It should place civilian supremacy as the foundation of democracy. Instead, it shows the increasingly blurred boundaries between civilian and military spheres,’ the statement read.
BEM FH Trisakti is urging the government to conduct a thorough evaluation of all policies. The evaluation must be carried out transparently and accountably.
In addition to the three main demands, other demands include:
Lower the prices of staple goods
Reduce fuel prices and increase the availability of subsidised fuel
Stop the waste of the state budget (APBN)
Temporarily halt and conduct a total evaluation of the Free Nutritious Meal programme (MBG)
Improve government communication with the public
Reject the National Police Law (UU POLRI)
Free all political prisoners
Stop the repressive actions of the security apparatus and halt militarism in civilian spheres in Eastern Indonesia
Reject National Strategic Projects (PSN) that are not pro-people
