Universitas Trilogi held a Museum Rekor Indonesia (MURI) record-breaking event for creating the most sketches of Indonesia’s second president, Soeharto. The event was organised to commemorate the 105th anniversary of Soeharto’s birth.

Held at Universitas Trilogi in South Jakarta on Wednesday (24/6/2026), the event saw more than 1,000 participants take part in the sketching competition. Participants, dressed in white shirts themed around Soeharto, appeared enthusiastic and focused as they worked on their sketches.

Alongside the sketching activity, a national seminar on the leadership of General HM Soeharto was conducted. Speakers included Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, former Minister of Finance Fuad Bawazier, Rector of the Defence University Anton Nugroho, and former Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) Yudi Latif.

The event was opened by the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Muti. In his speech, Muti expressed his hope that the competition would inspire participants to emulate and continue Soeharto’s struggles. ‘Through this competition, I hope you can emulate and then continue the struggle of Pak Harto as the Father of Development and a national hero,’ Muti said in his address.

Muti also hoped the competition would help develop the participants’ talents, noting that sketching is an activity that cultivates thought, feeling, and heart. ‘Painting is part of you processing your thoughts, feelings, and heart, and pouring them into every stroke on the canvas that you all have,’ he added.
