Tribunal ruling on dumping
HAMILTON, Canada (Dow Jones): Stelco Inc. said the Canadian International Trade Tribunal has ruled that dumped imports of carbon steel plate from Brazil, Finland, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Ukraine "have caused material injury to Canadian producers, including Stelco."
In a press release, Stelco said the tribunal also found material injury from subsidized imports of plate produced in India, Indonesia and Thailand.
As reported, Canada Customs & Revenue Agency issued a final determination that hot-rolled carbon steel plating has been dumped into the Canadian market from several countries at "an average of 40 percent below normal price levels."
The CCRA also made a final determination of subsidies of C$57 a metric ton from India, up to C$198 a ton from Indonesia, and C$70 a ton from Thailand.
