The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub DKI) announced on Thursday (10/9) three stages of service improvement trials for the new Jakarta LRT route, connecting Kelapa Gading and Manggarability, involving members of the public.

“The trial will consist of three stages. The first stage involves invited guests, and the second stage will involve local residents,” stated the Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Budi Awaluddin, at the Kelapa Gading LRT Station.

In addition to invited participants, the Jakarta Transportation Agency will open registration via its website for members of the public who wish to participate in the trial.

“We are opening registration for other members of the community who want to try this LRT service,” he continued.

“The third stage will take place after the official launch, after which the service will return to normal operations,” Budi added.

He explained that the trial conducted on Thursday (10/9) focused on the gate systems and the journey itself.

“Today’s review focused on the gate system and ticketing, which, thankfully, proceeded smoothly. We will also be monitoring the journey to the destination,” he said.

To date, the Jakarta Provincial Government has not yet announced the official inauguration date for the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT.

“The launch is currently in progress. We shall wait for the official announcement,” said Budi.

Meanwhile, several efforts to refine the service are being undertaken ahead of the inauguration. These efforts include the integration of the Manggarai LRT Station with the Manggarai KRL Commuterline station, as well as greening initiatives beneath the LRT tracks.
