Trial of Terra Drone CEO Underway at Central Jakarta District Court
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The trial of Terra Drone’s CEO related to the shop house fire case, which resulted in 22 fatalities in December 2025, is currently underway at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakpus).
“It is ongoing. The last session yesterday involved witness examination,” said PN Jakarta Pusat spokesperson Andi Saputra when confirmed by reporters in Jakarta on Thursday.
According to him, the trial of Terra Drone’s CEO, the defendant in the fire case, has been proceeding since 11 March 2026, starting with the prosecutor’s charges.
He explained that the trial is currently in the witness examination phase, with witnesses from the Public Prosecutors (JPU) presented in court on Wednesday (1/4).
“On 11 March, the charges were presented; on 1 April, witness examination; and on 15 April, further witness examination,” he stated.
Andi added that during the charges, defendant Michael Wishnu Wardana was indicted as stipulated and punishable under Article 474 paragraph (3) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code.
Furthermore, the defendant’s actions fulfil the provisions and are punishable under Article 188 of the Criminal Code, which regulates criminal acts due to negligence (fault) causing fire, explosion, or flood that endangers others’ lives or public safety and property.
The perpetrator faces a maximum prison sentence of five years or one year imprisonment.
Meanwhile, Head of Criminal Investigation at Metro Jakarta Pusat Police Resort, AKBP Roby Heri Saputra, stated that the Terra Drone shop house fire case has been certified ready for prosecution (P21) since January 2026 and was transferred in February this year.
“The file was P21 from January and transferred in February,” said Roby.
