Trial of Social Assistance Digitalisation: Komdigi Facilitates Interagency Data Exchange

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Ministry of Communications and Digital (Komdigi) is facilitating intergovernmental data exchange in a trial for the digitalisation of social assistance (bansos) for the Family Hope Programme (PKH) and Non-Cash Food Aid (BPNT) by June 2026. ‘What distinguishes today’s bansos from previous versions is the digitalisation process, primarily facilitating data exchange to ensure up-to-date, accurate, and non-duplicate data. Essentially, this is a single source of truth,’ said Mira Tayyiba, Director General of Digital Government Technology at Komdigi, on Tuesday (26/5/2026). In the new system known as Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), the government uses the Digital Identity (IKD) from the Ministry of Home Affairs to verify beneficiaries’ identities. Mira explained that SPLP functions as a connector between ministry and agency systems. With this system, bansos recipient data can be checked across various agencies without moving all data to a single location. ‘Data remains with the owning agency,’ she stressed. Through this system, the government can match bansos recipient data with information from agencies such as the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), National Civil Service Agency (BKN), BPJS, PLN, and the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas). The government has also prepared the Perlinsos portal for public access to bansos services. The system includes a grievance mechanism, allowing citizens to contest verification results. ‘This is the first time bansos has a grievance process,’ she said. She added that citizens with mobile phones and familiarity with digital services can access the system independently, while those struggling with digital access will be assisted by officials.
