Trial of One-Way System in Tapos Village Road Tunnel, Depok, to Begin on 7 May; Here Are the Alternative Routes

The Depok City Transportation Agency (Dishub) will begin implementing a trial of the one-way system (SSA) in the Tapos Village Road Tunnel area, Leuwinanggung Ward, Tapos Subdistrict, starting 7 May 2026. This policy is part of traffic management and engineering efforts to reduce congestion while improving safety at one of the area’s prone congestion points. Head of the Traffic Division of Depok Dishub, Ari Manggala, stated that the SSA implementation is focused on the tunnel area, which has frequently experienced long queues. “The SSA application is focused on the tunnel area where long queues often occur and goods vehicles get stuck due to limited space,” said Ari on Wednesday (29 April 2026), quoted from the official Depok City Government website. As a replacement, drivers heading to Leuwinanggung, Cikeas, and Cibubur will be directed through alternative routes, namely Jalan Raya Tapos and Jalan Boulevard Cimanggis Golf Estate (CGE). Ari explained that this policy is a follow-up to public complaints regarding traffic conditions in the area. “This traffic diversion is carried out because long queues and goods vehicles getting stuck in the tunnel frequently occur,” he said. During the period, Dishub along with combined apparatus will conduct periodic monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of the implemented traffic engineering. A total of 20 combined personnel from Dishub, police, Satpol PP, and local elements will be deployed in two shifts, from morning to evening. These five points are nodes of vehicle movement towards the Leuwinanggung area and surroundings. Several preparations have been made to support the SSA implementation, from installing traffic signs, street lighting, to placing water barriers and traffic cones. In addition, officers will also adjust road markings to guide users during the trial period. Dishub urges the public to comply with signs and instructions from officers in the field and to adjust travel patterns during the policy’s implementation. “This is part of efforts to improve safety and optimise the road network. We hope the public can be patient as this implementation will continue to be evaluated,” said Ari.
