Trial of Indictment for Former PGN CEO Hendi Prio in Gas Trading Corruption Case Set for Next Week

JAKARTA - Former President Director of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) Hendi Prio Santoso will face the first trial for the reading of the indictment in the corruption case of gas trading between PT PGN and PT Inti Alasindo Energy (PT IAE) on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

“It is scheduled for the first trial on Wednesday (8/4/2026),” said the spokesperson for the Jakarta District Court, Andi Saputra, in his statement on Thursday (2/4/2026).

Next Wednesday, PT IAE’s Chairman Arso Sadewo Tjokrosoebroto will also face the indictment in the same trial.

Arso’s case is registered under number 17/Pid.Sus-TPK/2026/PN.Jkt.Pst.

“The Chief of the Central Jakarta District Court has appointed the panel to hear the case, namely Ni Kadek Susantiani as the chief of the panel, with member judges Sunoto and Mardiantos,” Andi continued.

Both have already been found guilty and sentenced to six years in prison.

In this case, PT PGN provided an advance payment of US$15 million for the gas trading project.

This advance payment scheme was unusual and ultimately led to criminal acts.

The total US$15 million was then considered as the value of state financial losses.

This cooperation was known from the start not to be able to provide benefits to PT PGN because PT IAE already had no assets that could be used as collateral for the loan to PGN.

Moreover, PT IAE had been burdened with debts to several parties from the beginning.

PT IAE’s Chairman Arso Sadewo received US$11.04 million.

Then, former PGN President Director Hendi Prio Santoso is suspected of receiving S$500,000.

Furthermore, enriching the Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for Maritime and Fisheries Affairs Yugi Prayanto by US$20,000.
