Jakarta (ANTARA) - The trial for reading the indictment against the CEO of Terra Drone, Michael Wishnu Wardana, in the fire case that killed 22 employees has been postponed until Monday, 11 May 2026.

“We request the trial be postponed,” said Prosecutor Daru Iqbal Mursid from the Central Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office in Jakarta on Thursday.

The postponement of the indictment reading, he said, was carried out because his side still needed time to prepare the charges against the defendant.

“We still need time,” Daru stated to the panel of judges at the Central Jakarta District Court.

In response to the prosecutor’s request to postpone the reading of the indictment against the Terra Drone CEO, the Chief Judge Purwanto S Abdullah then granted time to the prosecutors to prepare the charges until Monday, 11 May 2026.

“The 11th, yes, for the reading of the indictment,” Purwanto said.

Once the date for reading the indictment was agreed, the trial scheduled for reading the indictment, originally set for today, Thursday, was then postponed.

As is known, Terra Drone CEO Michael Wishnu Wardana is charged as regulated and punishable under Article 474 paragraph (3) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP).

In addition, the defendant’s actions fulfil the provisions regulated and punishable under Article 188 of the KUHP, which governs criminal acts due to negligence (carelessness) that cause fire, explosion, or flood and endanger the lives of others or public safety of property.

The perpetrator faces a maximum prison sentence of five years or one year imprisonment.
