JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Military Court II-08 Jakarta will hold a hearing for the acid attack case against Andrie Yunus, Vice Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), on Wednesday (29/4/2026).

This hearing is scheduled after the Military Prosecutor II-07 Jakarta handed over the case file to the Military Court II-08 Jakarta on Thursday (16/4/2026).

In this case, there are four TNI BAIS soldiers as defendants: Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetia (NDP), Lieutenant Sami Lakka (SL), Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi (BHW), and Sergeant Edi Sudarko (ES).

“For now, we will hold the first hearing on Wednesday, 29 April 2026. The agenda is the reading of the indictment,” said Fredy.

Fredy assured that the court has the authority to try the case, both in terms of subject and legal jurisdiction.

“Subject-wise, are they military? Looking at the four defendants, they are military, so it falls under subject jurisdiction. Absolute authority applies. Relative authority, is the locus in Jakarta? As friends already know, the locus is around Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital in Salemba, which is in Jakarta,” explained Fredy.

“Then, from their unit, does their unit fall under the jurisdiction of the Jakarta Military Court? It turns out it does fall under our legal jurisdiction. Therefore, both absolute and relative authority apply,” he added.

Currently, his side is immediately conducting an examination of the material and formal requirements of the case file after it was handed over from the Military Prosecutor.

“If there are any improvements or deficiencies, we will return it to the Chief Military Prosecutor to be completed. However, if it is complete, we have one day to examine and review it, one day, so tomorrow we will register the case,” he said.

The incident began after Andrie finished recording a podcast at the office of the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI) in Menteng.

Due to the acid attack, Andrie screamed in pain and fell off his motorbike. Nearby residents then provided assistance, while the perpetrators fled towards Jalan Salemba Raya.

Medical examination results showed that Andrie suffered injuries to his right eye and burns covering about 20 percent of his body due to the acid splashing.

The four TNI BAIS soldiers were subsequently secured in connection with suspected involvement in the incident, namely Captain NDP, Lieutenant SL, Lieutenant BHW, and Sergeant ES.

The case also led to the resignation of the TNI BAIS Chief, Yudi Abrimantyo, as a form of accountability amid public scrutiny.
