Jakarta - KAI has begun evaluating user response to the operation of trial Extraordinary Train (KLB) services on the Jabodebek LRT, which are being run during the morning peak hours as part of efforts to maintain passenger journey comfort.

The operation of these KLB services is carried out on the Jati Mulya–Dukuh Atas BSI and Harjamukti–Dukuh Atas BSI routes to support the distribution of Jabodebek LRT users on several morning journeys with high mobility intensity towards activity centres in Jakarta.

Based on data as of Tuesday (9/6) at 12.00 WIB, the trial KLB on the Jati Mulya–Dukuh Atas BSI route served 950 users on Monday (8/6) and 914 users on Tuesday (9/6). Meanwhile, the KLB on the Harjamukti–Dukuh Atas BSI route, which began operating on Tuesday (9/6), served 328 users.

The trial KLB operates from 8 June to 12 June 2026, with departure schedules for the Jati Mulya–Dukuh Atas BSI route at 07.14 WIB and the Harjamukti–Dukuh Atas BSI route at 07.22 WIB.

According to the same data, monitoring between 05.00 and 08.00 WIB recorded several stations with the highest tap-in volumes: Harjamukti Station with 9,365 users, Cikunir 1 Station with 4,486 users, Jati Mulya Station with 4,299 users, Bekasi Barat Station with 3,419 users, Cikoko Station with 3,404 users, and Kampung Rambutan Station with 2,020 users.

The Manager of Public Relations for Jabodebek LRT, Radhitya Mardika, stated that the operation of the trial KLB is an adaptive step by KAI to evaluate user travel patterns during the hours with the highest volume in the morning. ‘KAI is conducting a trial to increase travel frequency in the morning to support user distribution so that journeys can be more comfortable, especially on routes with high mobility towards activity centres,’ he said.

Behind the implementation of the trial KLB, KAI continues to make various operational adjustments to ensure that the additional journeys can run in harmony with regular operational patterns without reducing aspects of safety and service reliability. Preparations range from train set readiness and travel operation pattern arrangements to coordination among operational and station officers to maintain smooth services during the morning peak hours.

KAI will continue to evaluate the operation of this trial KLB while prioritising safety, service reliability, and the comfort of Jabodebek LRT users.
