Tri Tito Urges Enhanced Publication to Boost National Craft Development
The Daily Chair of the National Craft Council (Dekranas), Tri Tito Karnavian, has stressed the importance of sound public communication management to support the promotion of national crafts amidst the increasingly dynamic digital information ecosystem. She stated that the optimal use of various communication platforms is a crucial part of broadening the dissemination of information on programmes and activities that support the development of national crafts. To that end, Dekranas is partnering with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) to continuously drive improvements in publication quality through the establishment of content standardisation and the strengthening of communication capacity within the organisation. “Therefore, let us together make the most of this opportunity provided by the Ministry of Komdigi to disseminate information as widely as possible about craft-related activities from each respective ministry and institution,” said Tri Tito in a statement on Thursday (11/6/2026). She made these remarks during the Dekranas Social Media Content Creation Standardisation Training at Rumah Kriya Asri, Cilandak Timur, South Jakarta. She explained that this effort is an important step towards building uniform standards in the management of publication materials. With a common standard, all fields within Dekranas are expected to have a shared understanding in compiling communication materials so that the information management process can run more effectively and produce higher quality content. Tri Tito also expects the optimisation of public communication to be carried out through the various digital platforms owned by Dekranas. This is deemed crucial so that various programmes and activities can reach the public more widely while simultaneously strengthening the presence and promotion of national crafts. “We also hope that the management of our social media, in addition to the website, and other social media platforms, can be further enhanced,” she said. Furthermore, Tri Tito emphasised the importance of collaboration with ministries and institutions in supporting the development of the national craft sector. This synergy is expected to broaden the scope of development, enabling more artisans to gain opportunities to grow and receive mentorship. “[Regional Dekranas] can provide input or opportunities to artisans who might not be monitored or accommodated by ministries and institutions for development programmes,” she concluded.
