Tri Tito Karnavian Urges New West Java PKK and Posyandu Chair to Strengthen Basic Services

Chair of the National Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK) Tri Tito Karnavian has inaugurated Samantha Dewi Erwan Setiawan as the Chair of the TP PKK and Chair of the Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) Advisory Team for West Java Province. The ceremony took place in Widya Chandra, Jakarta, on Monday (29/6/2026). Tri stated that the position is not merely an honour but a significant responsibility to drive family empowerment and improve basic public services through the strengthening of PKK and Posyandu institutions. ‘The mandate carried as Chair of the TP PKK and Chair of the Posyandu Advisory Team for West Java Province is both an honour and a major responsibility to mobilise family empowerment and basic community services,’ Tri said in a written statement on Tuesday (30/6/2026). According to Tri, this responsibility is particularly strategic because West Java is the most populous province in Indonesia. The province currently has approximately 46,024 Posyandu supported by 248,504 cadres spread across all villages and sub-districts. ‘This huge potential must be the main capital to deliver quality basic services that are closer to the community,’ she said. Tri further explained that the transformation of Posyandu is no longer solely focused on health services but now encompasses six areas of Minimum Service Standards (SPM), namely education, health, public works, public housing, public order and security, and social affairs. Therefore, synergy between the TP PKK and the Posyandu Advisory Team is key to supporting the national development agenda through family strengthening and improving the quality of basic services. To support this transformation, Tri urged all ranks of the TP PKK and Posyandu Advisory Team, both in West Java and across Indonesia, to strengthen institutions down to the village and sub-district levels and to enhance the capacity of cadres as the front line of community empowerment. She also encouraged the acceleration of Posyandu revitalisation and the strengthening of cross-sector collaboration to optimise basic services. Tri also requested that local governments provide support through policies, guidance, budgeting, and facilitation so that PKK and Posyandu programmes run effectively and deliver tangible benefits to the community. Tri explained that the inauguration is a follow-up to Presidential Regulation Number 99 of 2017 concerning the PKK Movement, reinforced by Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 36 of 2020 regarding its implementation. She expressed confidence that with the new leadership of the West Java TP PKK and Posyandu Advisory Team, along with local government support, the PKK and Posyandu movement will further advance in building empowered families, healthy communities, and strengthening the quality of basic services in the regions. She added that Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 13 of 2024 mandates that the Chair of the TP PKK in the regions also serves as the Chair of the Posyandu Advisory Team.
