Chairwoman of the Family Empowerment and Welfare Movement (TP PKK) Tri Tito Karnavian has stated that collaboration between regional governments and TP PKK is the key to accelerating the implementation of various government priority programmes, reaching communities at the family level. Tri made the statement after attending the peak commemoration of the 54th PKK Unity Day at Hotel Claro Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Saturday (11/7). Collaboration is becoming increasingly urgent because each year the government will issue a Home Affairs Ministerial Decree that regulates regional governments to budget activities or programmes related to PKK programmes within Regional Apparatus Organisations. ‘So the PKK’s function is to mobilise these programmes so they can reach their targets at the grassroots,’ Tri said. She also encouraged the PKK to have clear programmes that align with the regional government’s agenda to optimise cooperation between the PKK and Regional Apparatus Organisations. Tri then reminded that regions need to utilise the significant potential of PKK cadres. According to her, the presence of cadres spread down to the village and sub-district level is a strategic strength in supporting various government programmes at a relatively efficient cost because the cadres work voluntarily. On the same occasion, Tri appreciated the organisation of the 54th PKK Unity Day peak event in Makassar. She considered Makassar to be the right host as a representative of Eastern Indonesia, with its rich culture, cuisine, and crafts. Tri expressed gratitude that the entire series of activities ran smoothly and was enthusiastically welcomed by PKK cadres from various regions, which she said was fully supported by the collaboration of the South Sulawesi Provincial TP PKK together with all district/city TP PKKs in the region. ‘Alhamdulillah, the peak event of the 54th PKK Unity Day has been completed. Everything went smoothly, all PKK cadres celebrated this day with joy,’ she said. In the health sector, Tri also appreciated the achievements of South Sulawesi Province in supporting the child immunisation programme. According to her, the immunisation target is set by the Ministry of Health, while the PKK plays a role in accelerating its achievement in the field. ‘Our task is to accelerate so that IZD (zero dose immunisation) can be achieved and we are grateful that South Sulawesi Province has reached more than 100 percent in child immunisation, IZD,’ concluded Tri.
