Tri Tito Calls on PKK to Proactively Support Government Priority Programmes
Tri Tito Karnavian, Chairwoman of the Family Welfare and Empowerment Movement (PKK), has urged all regional PKK administrators to be more proactive in supporting and ensuring the success of various government priority programmes, including strengthening health services and community economic empowerment. She made the remarks while opening an MSME exhibition, free health check-ups, and a MURI record-breaking event for simultaneous Multiple Micronutrient Supplement (MMS) consumption by pregnant women across 24 districts and cities in South Sulawesi. The event was held in a hybrid format from Hotel Claro, Makassar, on Thursday (9/7).
“PKK is the only community organisation with a presidential regulation, Presidential Regulation Number 99 of 2017, which allows us to receive funding from the state and regional budgets. So PKK is not something we made up; we are here to partner with the government, but we have a strong legal basis,” she said. She urged TP PKK officials not to merely wait for local government programmes but to actively design activities aligned with the policies of regional apparatus organisations (OPD). Tri noted that such collaboration would make programmes more effective while helping local governments meet public service targets, including the implementation of free health check-ups.
“In fact, the relevant OPD offices should be grateful that we are stepping in to mobilise our cadres to carry out these activities, because they themselves actually have targets for these free health check-ups,” she stated. In addition to strengthening synergy with local governments, Tri encouraged TP PKK to expand cooperation with professional organisations and the private sector through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes. She assessed that such support could enhance public access to health services, such as cataract surgery and the distribution of free eyeglasses.
In the economic sector, Tri appreciated TP PKK’s efforts in developing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). She believes that strengthening MSMEs not only improves family welfare but also contributes to regional economic growth. She also expressed appreciation to South Sulawesi TP PKK Chairwoman Naomi Octarina and the South Sulawesi Provincial Government for their collaboration in organising the event. Tri specifically called on all PKK cadres to continue contributing to the success of government programmes towards the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
During the event, Tri also witnessed the breaking of a MURI record for MMS pill consumption by pregnant women throughout South Sulawesi Province. She subsequently reviewed the implementation of the Free Health Check-ups and the MSME exhibition. Also in attendance were Yane Bima Arya, Expert Staff to the Central TP PKK for Family Food Security Strengthening, along with members of the Central TP PKK board, TP PKK chairwomen from 38 provinces, and TP PKK chairwomen from districts and cities across South Sulawesi Province.
