Tri Polyta ends consortium

NEW YORK (Dow Jones): Tri Polyta Indonesia (TPI) provided
notice of its withdrawal from Nisshoku Tripolyta Acrylindo, a
joint venture formed in 1996 with Nippon Shokubai Co. and Tomen
Corp.

The venture manufactures acrylic acid and acrylic ester.

In a press release Friday, Tri Polyta said the venture
partners expressed interest in buying Tri Polyta's 45 percent
interest in the venture.

The timing of the purchase hasn't been finalized.

Tri Polyta is an Indonesian polypropylene manufacturer.
