TrendAI builds local data centre to support cybersecurity

Cybersecurity firm TrendAI has launched a local data centre in Indonesia to support its AI-based cybersecurity platform, TrendAI Vision One. Country Manager of TrendAI Indonesia, Fetra Syahbana, stated that the presence of the data centre is part of the company’s commitment to developing the Indonesian market while complying with domestic data management regulations. “Indonesia is a potential market. Therefore, we follow the applicable regulations, including establishing a data centre in Indonesia,” Fetra said during a media briefing in Jakarta on Monday. He added that with the advent of AI, companies are now required to secure their assets more rapidly as everything moves faster. The launch of the data centre also aligns with the rebranding of Trend Micro’s enterprise business to TrendAI in March 2026. According to Fetra, the local infrastructure helps customers comply with the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP) as well as cybersecurity and data localisation guidelines from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for the financial services sector. TrendAI targets the service to be utilised by government agencies, the telecommunications industry, critical infrastructure sectors, and financial institutions, including more than 135 banks under OJK supervision. “There are three pillars when we talk about this data centre. First, data residency so that data does not leave Indonesia. Second, compliance with various regulations. Third, our services become faster and more reliable for customers in Indonesia,” Fetra said.
