I personally had predicted that Tommy Soeharto would be
allowed to pay his father a visit despite the Jakarta Police
chief repeatedly saying earlier that such a visit was highly
unlikely.

Whatever the police's reasons were, it's really ironic that a
convict that used to be a fugitive gets special treatment. The
police are being put to the test in terms of their autonomy and
their taking sides in the matter. Do the police still follow
practices of the New Order?

In this juncture, I call on all convicts' parents to jointly
get sick or feign illness.

We will prove whether special treatment is given only to Tommy
or to all citizens. Convicts that have difficulty in visiting
their parents can make use of this event as a preliminary test of
the continuation of prosecution against Tommy. Will he be freed
or not?

I can well imagine what will happen to Tommy next. I dare to
bet that Tommy Soeharto will end up a free man.
