PURWAKARTA — Journeys to Bandung via toll roads frequently require travellers to stop for rest before continuing. Travoy Rest Area Km 88A has become one of the most popular stopping points for motorists heading to Bandung city.

Its strategic location makes this rest area a busy hub for drivers bound for Bandung. Frince Rajagukguk, Facility Coordinator at Travoy Rest Area Km 88A, explained that the rest area has become a favoured stopping point due to its position on the final route before vehicles enter Bandung.

Compared to other rest areas on the same toll highway section, Rest Area 88A experiences consistently high visitor volumes daily. The number of vehicles entering the rest area can reach thousands per day, with Frince noting that “daily traffic can reach 7,000 to 8,000 cars.”

Visitor numbers typically surge during weekends and long holiday seasons, particularly during and around the Lebaran exodus period. Rest Area Travoy Km 88A provides various facilities to ensure visitor comfort. In the premium area below, there are numerous food and beverage outlets run by well-established brands.

Besides dining and pharmacy services, the rest area also offers various other general facilities including toilets at several locations, parking areas for different vehicle types, and prayer facilities. According to Frince, there are four toilet locations throughout the rest area.

“Toilets are located in four places: in the premium parking area (lower level), in the food court area (upper level) which is larger, at the petrol station, and in the heavy vehicle (truck) area which also has special shower facilities for drivers,” he explained.

Additionally, there are paid rest facilities for visitors seeking more comfortable rest options. The rest area also features various retail outlets and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) selling food and other products.

With the increasing use of electric vehicles, Travoy Rest Area Km 88A also provides electric vehicle charging facilities or Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU).
