Travelling Around Jakarta for Just Rp 1 During Eid 2026, Here's How
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has ensured conveniences for residents celebrating Eid al-Fitr 2026 in the capital, including a policy to waive fares for public transportation. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that all modes of transport managed by the provincial government will be free during the Eid period. “If there are still Jakarta residents who do not return to their hometowns, they can still maintain family ties via video calls and the like. Therefore, the DKI Jakarta Government will provide various facilities,” Pramono said in his statement quoted on Friday (20/3/2026). “One of them is transportation during Eid al-Fitr; everything managed by the DKI Jakarta Government will be free by us. Whether it’s MRT, LRT, Transjakarta, Mikrotrans, JakLingko, and so on,” he continued. Pramono also urged the public to remain orderly, maintain security, and be wise when travelling, whether returning home or coming to Jakarta. According to the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency website, this Rp 1 fare promotion can be enjoyed by all public transport users, both Jakarta residents and tourists visiting. MRT Jakarta Corporate Secretary Division Head Rendy Primartantyo stated that all 13 stations will operate normally during that period.
