Travellers' Stories: Admitting Journey with Whoosh is More Efficient and Quick
A number of Eid travellers at the Indonesia-China High-Speed Railway (KCIC) Halim Station in East Jakarta on Wednesday admitted that the Whoosh mode of transport made their journeys more efficient and quick.
One traveller named Hafid, a resident of South Jakarta, said that the existence of Whoosh meant he did not have to face traffic jams if using land transportation.
“Because in terms of time efficiency, it’s faster, yeah. Especially now during the Eid season, the roads via toll roads or whatever are definitely jammed. With this train, it’s faster,” he said when met by ANTARA.
He also explained that his departure today was to meet family in Bandung and travel to tourist spots in Pangalengan and Ciwidey.
As a self-employed worker, he stated that travelling using KCIC has often been done for business matters.
“I often do, coincidentally often. Because every time there is work business, the round trip between Jakarta-Bandung also uses the train,” he said.
In addition, Hafid mentioned that the quality of Whoosh is in line with the price offered, in terms of facilities and comfort during the journey.
“If compared to the price, yeah, there’s a price for quality. If for example compared to prices like travel or whatever, yeah, it’s much more expensive, but it’s worth it with the service provided,” he said.
A traveller from Bandung who will celebrate Eid in Cijantung, East Jakarta, Noval with his wife and two children, said that Whoosh made their travel experience comfortable because public transportation access is connected to the station.
“Yeah, the facilities here are complete too. Everything is provided for the Eid trip, easy to get vehicle access from anywhere,” he said.
Noval also admitted that the facilities on Whoosh are complete and clean. He recounted that he had not yet slept, but had already arrived in Jakarta without realising it because of the very short Whoosh travel time.
“The message is more or less the same. So the journey also feels shorter, like it feels like I haven’t slept yet and I’m already there. And from the facilities, everything feels more complete and clean,” he added.
Previously, General Manager of Corporate Secretary PT KCIC Eva Chairunisa stated that the number of passengers during the 2025 Eid period was recorded at around 290,000 people and is predicted to increase to around 301,000 passengers in the 2026 Eid period.
“The increase in the number of passengers shows the increasing interest of the public in using Whoosh as a transportation choice during the Eid holiday period,” said Eva in Bandung on Sunday (15/3).
According to her, this increase is also evident from the potential surge in daily passenger numbers which is estimated to be higher than the previous year.
KCIC estimates that the peak passenger movement will occur in two main periods during this year’s Eid transportation period.
“The increase in passenger volume is estimated to start being seen since 17 March 2026 and continue to increase until approaching Eid, with the peak mudik flow predicted to occur on H-1 Eid or 20 March 2026,” she said.
