Travellers praise children's play area at Gambir for enhancing comfort

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Several travellers have assessed that the presence of a children’s play area at Gambir Station helps enhance comfort while waiting for train departures, particularly for passengers bringing toddlers.

One traveller, Naura, who was heading to Yogyakarta with her two-year-old child, admitted that the facility prevents her child from getting bored quickly while at the station.

“Good, the child doesn’t get bored. There are bicycles and books, so it’s more comfortable,” she said when met at Gambir Station, Jakarta, on Thursday.

Naura said she arrived at Gambir Station at 10:00 WIB and departed for Yogyakarta at 14:00 WIB. She admitted to having used train services for mudik trips twice before.

With the presence of such facilities, children can remain active and entertained while waiting for departure time, allowing parents to feel more at ease.

Several facilities available in the play area include simple games, such as small bicycles and children’s reading books.

The same sentiment was expressed by another traveller, Adelia. She assessed that the play area’s existence helps maintain the child’s mood during the wait for departure.

Previously, the Minister for Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPA) Arifah Fauzi had also assessed that facilities for children and women at Gambir Station (Central Jakarta) are adequate, allowing them to interact well.

“Good (the facilities), there was a breastfeeding room earlier, I saw the mothers were really happy,” said Minister Arifah.

According to her, such good service also aligns with the instructions from President Prabowo Subianto, who wants the mudik community to feel comfortable and safe.
