Travellers at Kampung Rambutan Terminal Opt to Buy Tickets Directly

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Some travellers at Kampung Rambutan Terminal in East Jakarta are choosing to buy tickets directly on the day of departure, even though the terminal is already crowded with passengers and ticket availability is increasingly limited three days before Lebaran 2026.

One traveller heading to Palembang, Henny (31), admitted to buying her ticket only on the day of travel. She opted for bus transport after failing to secure an aeroplane ticket, which she deemed too expensive.

“I bought it just earlier because the aeroplane tickets were sold out; the available ones cost up to Rp6 million, so I chose the bus instead. Normally (bus ticket price) is Rp400,000, now it’s around Rp700,000,” said Henny.

“Yesterday, I didn’t think about going home for Lebaran. So today I suddenly decided to go, and it’s better to leave today rather than tomorrow, as tomorrow is the sidang isbat and the night of takbiran, I’m afraid I won’t make it; better today all at once,” she added.

Olin (20), a traveller heading to Sumedang, shared a similar experience; she hadn’t even bought a ticket when she arrived at the terminal. She said she came directly without prior booking because she only recently got leave from work.

According to her, the crowds of travellers departing close to Idul Fitri Day make her worried about not getting a ticket. She also mentioned that ticket prices have increased by around 20 per cent compared to normal days.

“Earlier, one bus arrived but I didn’t get a spot because it was completely full,” she said.

The student planning to go home to Garut intends to buy a ticket directly at the offline purchasing service available at the terminal.

She also decided to buy the ticket directly because she only recently planned to return to her hometown.
