Travel info on Internet

JAKARTA (JP): The Association of Indonesian Travel Agencies
(Asita) will provide information on the country's tourist and
travel businesses through an Internet service.

A member of Asitanet, the organizing committee for the planned
project, Syarman Syarif, told The Jakarta Post here on Wednesday
that the information will be provided through the Internet
service arranged in cooperation with PT Intouch.

Intouch is a partner of a new Internet provider, PT Meganusa
Lintasbuana, which offers its information superhighway service,
called MegaNet, in 30 cities.

Syarman said that through the tourist and travel information,
which is expected to be available in May, small-scale travel
agents all over the country will be able to promote themselves
overseas.

He said that the service, with home page and CD ROM, would
also function as a communications facility among Asita members.
