Transportasi Indonesia Award 2026 Aims to Advance the Transport Sector
Transportation expert Djoko Setijowarno stated that the Transportasi Indonesia Award 2026 is not merely a ceremonial event but a platform to strengthen cross-sector collaboration in realising an integrated and sustainable national transport system. “The Transportasi Indonesia Award 2026 is expected to spur all stakeholders to continue innovating,” Djoko said in Jakarta on Tuesday. He expressed hope that the event would strengthen the transport sector through cross-sector collaboration, building a national transport system that is increasingly integrated, safe, sustainable, and globally competitive.
Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, Aan Suhanan, commended Transportasi Media Indonesia for its decade-long role in supporting the dissemination of government information and policies in the transport sector. “Transportation is a basic need and the lifeblood of the nation. A good transport system will drive economic growth, reflect the nation’s civilisation, and serve as an indicator of a modern country,” he said. Aan acknowledged that the land transport sector still faces significant challenges, particularly regarding safety and connectivity. According to police data, an average of three people die every hour due to traffic accidents. To address this, the government is strengthening safety measures through Minister of Transportation Instruction Number 3 of 2026 on ramp checks and expanding mass transport services via the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Buy The Service (BTS) programmes.
