The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs has announced that the realisation of the transport ticket discount programme for the second semester of 2026 has reached its target. During the school holiday period, the government provided incentives and transport discounts, including a 30 percent discount on train ticket prices from 20 June to 5 July 2026, and a 30 percent discount on the base fare for Pelni ships from 20 June to 15 August 2026. Additionally, the government waived port service fees for ASDP from 20 June to 5 July 2026, and provided a full 100 percent Government-Borne Value Added Tax (PPN DTP) subsidy for scheduled domestic economy-class flight tickets. As of 5 July 2026, the programme had been utilised by 1,303,191 passengers, reaching 110 percent of the target of 1,174,624 passengers. This figure also represents a 13 percent increase compared to the realisation in the same period in 2025, which was recorded at 1,152,581 passengers. With a budget realisation of Rp90.9 billion, the policy covered 150 regular train journeys and 26 additional train journeys, with a 30 percent discount applied to all non-public service obligation (non-PSO/non-pioneer) economy train services. Meanwhile, the realisation of the sea transport fare discount programme is still ongoing, as its implementation period will end on 15 August 2026. As of 6 July 2026, this programme had been utilised by 481,503 passengers, or approximately 69 percent of the target of 693,690 passengers, with a current budget realisation of Rp46.9 billion. With a longer implementation period compared to other transport discount programmes, the realisation of this programme is expected to continue increasing until the incentive period ends.
