Transport Minister to Summon Green SM Taxi Operator Following Train Collision
Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi will summon the operator of Green SM taxis that caused a train accident at Bekasi Timur Station.
Dudy has instructed the Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, Aan Suhanan, to meet with Green SM representatives. According to Dudy, the meeting scheduled for today will discuss evaluations.
“I have asked the Director General of Land Transportation to meet with the management of those green taxis to conduct an evaluation. Hopefully, if it happens today,” said Dudy at Bekasi Timur Station on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
He added that every accident requires an evaluation to ensure similar incidents do not recur in the future.
“Every time an accident occurs, we will definitely conduct an evaluation, so the hope is that we learn from what happened and improve going forward,” he explained.
Previously, Green SM Indonesia issued a statement regarding the incident. In a post on the Green SM Indonesia Instagram account, the company stated that it is paying full attention to the incident and has provided information to the authorities to support the ongoing investigation process.
“Green SM Indonesia is paying full attention to the incident that occurred in the crossing area near Bekasi Timur Station on 27 April 2026, which involved one Green SM vehicle and a passing train,” wrote Green SM Indonesia.
Green SM Indonesia claims to have provided relevant information to the authorities and fully supports the ongoing investigation process.
“Safety remains our top priority. We are committed to maintaining high safety standards through operational systems, supervision, and continuous service improvements,” wrote Green SM Indonesia.
