Transport Minister Tests KRL on Cikarang Route, Ensures Normal Operations Resume

Transport Minister (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi, along with PT KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin, tested the KRL on the Jakarta-Cikarang route from Bekasi Timur Station. Dudy assured that KRL operations have returned to normal. Observations by detikcom on Wednesday (29/4/2026) showed Dudy and Bobby boarding the KRL on the Jakarta-Cikarang route from Bekasi Timur Station at 13.40 WIB. Inside the KRL, Dudy stated that the train behind the one he was on had already begun serving passengers at Bekasi Timur Station. “This is part of our trial run. Earlier, the KNKT has said it can be used. This is the train from Bekasi to Cikarang. Once this is done, Bekasi Timur Station can be fully operational again, especially for KRL to serve the public,” said Dudy inside the KRL. “Yes, from Bekasi Timur Station, we have opened it and it can now serve up to Cikarang,” he continued. Previously, PT KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin announced that KRL services would reopen in the afternoon. Everything will be ensured to operate as before. “Insha’Allah, this afternoon we will open our KRL services on the Cikarang Line, which will operate with the same frequency as before,” he said. Earlier, the Argo Bromo Anggrek train collided with a stationary KRL at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday (27/4) night. The incident began when a taxi got stuck on a level crossing not far from Bekasi Timur Station. The taxi getting stuck caused the KRL at Bekasi Station to wait. The Argo Bromo Anggrek then arrived and rear-ended it. The rail accident resulted in 16 fatalities and dozens injured.
