Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi directly inspected the evacuation process for the train incident involving the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek and KRL at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday (27/4/2026), to ensure that victim safety is the priority.

The Ministry of Transport expressed concern over the incident involving the two train services in the area. The evacuation process was said to be carried out quickly, focusing on handling the affected victims.

“We ensure that the evacuation process is carried out quickly, prioritising the safety of the affected victims,” said Dudy in his statement on Tuesday (28/4/2026).

He added that he is currently at the location to directly monitor the handling process in the field. Data on the number of victims is still ongoing as the situation develops.

“We continue to coordinate intensively with all relevant parties so that the evacuation process runs optimally,” said Dudy.

This process aims to thoroughly investigate the cause of the incident, which is still in the investigation stage. The government emphasises that handling victims and restoring field conditions are the top priorities before the investigation results are announced.

In addition, cross-agency coordination continues to ensure all handling stages proceed according to transportation safety procedures.

The disruption occurred due to the train PLB 5568A (CL KPB–CKR) being hit by PLB 4B or KA Argo Bromo Anggrek on the Gambir–Surabaya Pasar Turi route at the incident location. This incident impacted train operations on that line.

Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, conveyed an apology to customers for the inconvenience caused.

“We are striving as much as possible to ensure that train operations can return to normal as soon as possible,” he continued.

KAI ensured that personnel have moved quickly to secure the location and coordinate with relevant parties to accelerate evacuation and restoration of services. As a safety measure, the overhead power supply (LAA) on the Cibitung–Bekasi Timur line has been temporarily deactivated.

The cause of the incident and the number of affected train services are still under investigation and further data collection. Information will be updated periodically as handling developments occur in the field.
