JAKARTA - Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi reported that public transport passenger movements reached 15.3 million people. This period is calculated from H-8 or 13 March to H+3 or 24 March 2026.

The figure represents an 11.11% increase compared to the 2025 Eid period, which reached 13.8 million people.

Public transport vehicle movements also rose, recording a 4.07% increase compared to last year based on monitoring from the Integrated Eid Transport Central Post 2026.

“These data are still dynamic as the calculation process continues until 30 March 2026. We still see potential for a peak return flow on 28-29 March 2026,” said Minister Dudy in an official statement on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

“We hope the public can take advantage of the work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy, as well as the 30% toll discount applied on 26-27 March across nine toll road sections,” he added.

“The hope is that the public can utilise this to reduce the congestion we predict will occur on 28 or 29 March,” Dudy continued.

Travel planning is also a focus. Proper time management is deemed important to avoid congestion concentrating in one period.

“With good time management, traffic density is expected to be spread over a longer period,” he explained.

Restrictions on vehicles with three or more axles remain in effect until 29 March 2026. Logistics business actors are urged to comply with these regulations.

“We remind once again that restrictions on vehicles with three or more axles remain in place until 29 March 2026. We hope that business actors continue to comply with these restrictions,” he clarified.

Dudy hopes that discipline and coordination will be maintained until the end of the Eid period.

“With public compliance, support from officers, and proper traffic management, the return flow is expected to proceed more smoothly, safely, and without incident,” the Transport Minister emphasised.
