Transport Minister Reminds Homebound Travellers to Plan Journeys and Follow Official Guidance

JAKARTA — Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi has reminded citizens planning to travel for the 2026 Eid homecoming to make thorough travel preparations and comply with directives from field personnel. The message was issued to ensure smooth movement of travellers whilst maintaining public safety.

The government, together with security forces and various stakeholders, continues to strengthen coordination to ensure the Eid transport operation is conducted in an orderly and safe manner. “Our message to homebound travellers is to always comply with directions and guidance from field personnel and to plan their journeys as thoroughly as possible,” said Dudy whilst providing a statement to media at the Korlantas Police Command Centre in Cikampek, West Java, on Friday, 13 March 2026.

He explained that the government has undertaken various preparatory steps ahead of the peak travel period. One such measure was the implementation of the Operation Ketupat 2026 deployment briefing led by the National Police Chief alongside the Commander of the Armed Forces from the National Monument in Jakarta on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

The series of preparations also included joint prayers held with various relevant agencies at the Korlantas Command Centre in Cikampek. The activity was conducted to seek smooth and safe travel during this year’s Eid transport operation.

“And we have just completed joint prayers with the aim that the implementation of the 2026 Eid transport operation can proceed smoothly, safely, and successfully,” said Dudy.
