Transport Minister Reiterates Ban on Three-Axle Trucks Until 29 March 2026
BEKASI, KOMPAS.com – The operational restrictions on three-axle trucks during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return traffic will still apply until Sunday, 29 March 2026. The government is reminding logistics business operators to comply with the regulation to maintain the smoothness and safety of travel. Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi has asked logistics transport business operators not to violate the restrictions set during the Eid period. “We hope that logistics business operator friends will always comply with those restrictions,” Dudy said when met at the Jasa Marga Toll Road Command Centre on Wednesday (25/3/2026). “We will summon and issue warnings to those companies,” he added. According to Dudy, this step is part of an evaluation as well as an effort to improve business operator compliance during the restriction period. He stated that the compliance rate is starting to improve, especially ahead of the return traffic. “If we look at it now during the return traffic, the compliance rate has started to increase,” he said. Dudy emphasised that the operational restrictions on goods transport aim to maintain safety and the smooth flow of traffic during the Eid homecoming and return period. Violations that occur, he continued, will serve as material for cross-sector evaluations involving several agencies, such as the Ministry of Public Works, police, and other related ministries. In the future, the government will also review upgrading the status of the regulation from a Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) to a stronger regulation with more stringent enforcement power. “The important thing is the hope that we can act more firmly against the violations that occur,” Dudy said.
