Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi said the one-way traffic engineering or national one-way system on the Trans-Java Toll Road will end depending on the traffic situation during the homecoming flow. This engineering is currently in place due to an increase in vehicle volume on the toll road from Jakarta towards Central Java. If the vehicle volume normalises later, two-way normal traffic will resume. “Of course, we will see how far the generation of vehicles making the homecoming journey extends,” Dudy said at the Cikampek Toll Gate on Wednesday (18/3/2026). According to him, Jasa Marga, as the toll road operator, has a V/C ratio parameter or vehicle capacity ratio on the toll road to implement certain traffic engineering measures. Currently, the vehicle volume ratio has reached 8,000, necessitating the one-way system. “Then, if the V/C ratio decreases, the traffic engineering will be reduced or adjusted,” he said. Meanwhile, he reminded homecomers travelling from east to west to use arterial routes. The government, he said, has also prepared several such arterial routes for the comfort of homecomers. Previously, the one-way traffic engineering or national one-way system on the Trans-Java Toll Road was officially implemented on Wednesday afternoon, or H-3 Eid 2025. The engineering started from KM 70 at the Cikampek Main Toll Gate, West Java, to KM 414 at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate, Semarang, Central Java. The inauguration of the engineering was marked by Dudy raising the flag together with police officials, Jasa Marga, and Jasa Raharja. The one-way system officially started at 13:25 WIB.
