Transport Minister Implements National One-Way Scheme from Kalikangkung to Cikampek to Ease Lebaran Return Traffic Congestion
Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, along with several related officials, officially implemented national one-way traffic at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate in Semarang, Central Java, on Tuesday (24/3/2026). The national one-way policy is applied from KM 414 at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate to KM 70 at the Cikampek Main Toll Gate to ease the density of the Lebaran return flow. An estimated 285,000 vehicles are expected to move towards Jakarta on 24 March 2026. “The volume of vehicles heading towards Jakarta shows a significant increase. The implementation of the national one-way traffic engineering is hoped to facilitate the public in returning to their hometowns,” said Dudy in his press release on Wednesday (25/3/2026). As an alternative, returnees are advised to utilise other rest areas, such as KM 42B and KM 19B. “Before travelling, I urge the public to check the time and route of the dynamic traffic engineering implemented by the Police. The public can use the Travoy application or through the Jasa Marga Call Centre,” said Dudy. “The public can maximise the work-from-home (WFH) time implemented by the government on 25, 26, and 27 March 2026 to avoid vehicle build-up on the Trans-Java Toll Road,” said Dudy. Furthermore, he reminded logistics transport entrepreneurs to comply with the Joint Decree (SKB) on Traffic and Crossing Arrangements during the 2026 Lebaran Transport period, established by the Ministry of Transport (Kemenhub), National Police (Polri), and the Ministry of Public Works (PU). “I repeatedly call on logistics transport entrepreneurs to remain compliant with the operational restrictions for goods transport vehicles during the 2026 Lebaran Transport period. This is very important to ensure public mobility during the return flow period is safe, orderly, and smooth,” he explained. On that occasion, Dudy also expressed appreciation to all stakeholders, from the National Police, regional governments (pemda), toll road managers, to Jasa Raharja, who have worked hard to ensure the smooth flow of mudik and return during Lebaran 2026.
